Advantages Of Using Hair Oil

>> Sunday, October 6, 2013

Yesterday my daughter came home from school and asked me to please oil her hair, a sentence which caused me to check her for a fever or other signs of an oncoming illness! Let me explain my reaction to her request. When my children were babies I used to take them a newly established neighborhood center where a local midwife had established a lovely class called baby massage, where new mums could bring their babies and learn how to correctly use essential oils and massage techniques, which would benefit both mother and child.

The class was very informal and the mothers left as relaxed as their babies, since we had spent an hour massaging our children, making new friends and gossiping over tea and biscuits. I am writing this to share with you the fact that those baby massage classes gave me a new respect for the benefits of massage and oil, since the act of massage my baby as a social activity was both a bonding process with our babies and firmly embedded in our minds the health benefits of using different essential oils to cure a variety of minor ailments.

Amongst the usual runny noses and upset tummies, we also learn that hair growth can be affected by massaging the scalp with any good hair oil such as mustard, almond or jojoba hair oil.

We were taught that if the scalp is regularly massaged with hair oil, blood circulation is increased to the hair follicles and this leads to stronger hair roots and less hair fall.Armed with this knowledge, I decided to keep up the massage sessions at home, as the children grew older and far too restless to make the classes relaxing for either of us, and made sure that massaging the head with oil became a weekly ritual.

This also brought back memories of my grandmother and my mother oiling my hair and me trying to escape in as short a time as possible. Oh, how history repeats itself again! This leads me back to the beginning of my article. As the children became older and mixed more with their friends, they decided (as had I at their age) that putting oil on their hair was not cool and started to make excuses to avoid it.

Even though all the hair was thoroughly coated and it was always rinsed so well that no traces were left, little by little the kids escaped our weekly ritual and I found it easier to not chase them about it, especially considering the hundreds of other matters which did need to be chased.

Apparently my daughter and her friends had read an article out lining how the celebrities maintained their glossy hair and one of the top tips, in each case, for a hair fall solution was the use of hair oils. So it looks like my Saturday nights will once again be spent administering oil to my heads of my newly converted children! Naturally it really deserve this much attention. But our much busy and polluted air it is becoming much tough for us to sustain our hairs as long as we want and as much healthy with growing.
